who the hell takes the JMZ?!?

So my dear friends, last night was the Mountain Goats show at the bowery and it was beyond fabulous. The setlist included, among many super songs, New Year, Dance Music, Love Love Love and No Children, which turned out to be a mass sing along. Darnielle was his usual charmimg and witty self between songs as we all looked up to him with loving eyes.

Darnielle has his way with words. His interpretations of everyday emotions and happenings really gets in you and fucks with your head. I love every moment of it. You, however, need to hear it for yourself so go out and buy (yes, BUY) one of their albums and sit with a bottle of wine and simply enjoy.

The crowd lats night was a mixture of tasteful music lovers and obnoxious peeholes. I do not understand why people feel the need to scream out song requests. It makes me want to punch them in eye. Let the fuckin band play what they want and shut the fuck up. And by NO means interupt the man, because thats just rude...and it increases your chance of being pushed down the subway stairs by yours truly.

And can someone please make a rule about tall people in the crowds!! I'm sorry but if you are over like 6ft tall OR have an obsurdly large head, you need to be in the back and thats it. Dont get me wrong, I love me some tall, big headed folks, but lets be nice to the vertically challenged.

It was so great to go to a live show. Its the first since I've been back in the city and I am once again addicted. I have had my taste of NYC music and I want more. Music is truly my drug.

AND....

I may now have the means to support it. Yes, my dearies, I believe there is a job offer in my near future. Finally!!! Its not the greatest job in the world, but Im pretty sure I will rock it and move on to bigger and better things in the company. Nah, Im sure of it, they just need to see the awesomeness that is Kelli Crean. Uh huh!

Where, you ask? Its at the Roosevelt Hotel on Madison Avenue. I know, I know, the east side, but what could I do. The UES is growing on me, even the 6 train is growing on me (except at 5pm in Grand Central Station, that may take some time). All my peeps live on the east side, too. Who knew I would become such an east side whore.

no, no, i'm a brooklyn gal at heart.
